PURPOSE:To improve durability by a large margin by previously bending the tooth surface side having a tooth form so as to be made convex in no-load state. CONSTITUTION:The captioned rack has the rack tooth form 1 for the engagement with a pinion gear on one surface 2 and has a flat band form on the other 3. Since the material on the upper part of the rack is made of flexible material and the thickness (t) of the bottom part of said band-shaped body is made optimum, the rack itself is made flexible and bendable. The rack is previously bent so that the tooth surface side 2 having the tooth form 1 is made convex in the no-loaded state. The other surface 3 is flat. Therefore, the stress concentration at the tooth root corner part can be prevented. |
