摘要 |
PURPOSE:To carry out an effective electrolytic reaction by electrolyzing an aqueous alkali chloride soln. after adding isocyanic ester to the soln. in the anode chamber of an electrolytic cell so as to drop the bath voltage without deteriorating the quality of alkali hydroxide as a product. CONSTITUTION:When an aqueous alkali chloride soln. is electrolyzed by a cation exchange membrane method, <=about 50mg/l isocyanic ester such as hexamethylene diisocyanate is added to the soln. in the anode chamber of an electrolytic cell. The added isocyanic ester reduces resistance by gaseous chlorine generated on the anode, so the bath voltage is dropped and the consumption of electric power is reduced. About 10mg/l isocyanic ester is enough for the purpose. |
