PURPOSE:To obtain steel of stabilized quality by blowing in an inert gas or mixture of the gas and a refining agent through the blow-in ports of two or more cylindrical bodies diffrent in length from each other and imbedded in a hardly-sintered refractory in a tuyere. CONSTITUTION:The bottom part of a molten metal vessel is lined with side bricks 1 and 1b, an outer tuyere brick 2 is attached to the side brick 1a, and an inner tuyere 3 is pressed and attched to the outer tuyere brick 2. Two metallic tubes 15 difference in length from each other and having blow-in ports 5 and 14 are inserted into the inner tuyere 3, and a powdery hardly-sintered refractory 6 is packed into the clearance between the inner tuyere 3 and the metallic tube 15. An inert gas or a mixture of the inert gas and a refining agent is blown into the molten metal vessel from the two metallic tubes 15 through each blow- in port 5 and 14. |
