PURPOSE:To control the fluctuation in calorie of the generated gas, to fix the calorie of gas, and to change the calorie in accorance with the requirement of users by controlling the amt. of steam to be sucked into the material bed on the basis of the gas composition value of the material bed in the shaft of a vertical reduction furnace. CONSTITUTION:A steam blow-in pipe 4 is provied in the material bed 3 in the shaft part 2 of a reduction furnace 1 such as a blast furnace. Gas is sampled from a gas sampling tube 5 which is provided below the pipe 4, and the gas composition is detected. The detection signal is inptted to a calculator 7 for setting the amt. of steam to be blown in, and the set amt. of steam to be blown in is determined in the calculator 7 with the set value signal of desired gas calorie from a gas calorie setting device 8 and the blast signal from a blast meter 9. The output signal is inputted to a steam flow control valve 11 of a steam supply pipe 10 connected to the steam blow-in pipe 4, and the amt. of steam or water to be blown in from the blow-in pipe 4 is controlled on the basis of the detected gas composition value. |
