METHOD FOR ADDING ALLOYING OR REFINING AGENT TO MOLTEN STEEL DEGASSING VESSEL

PURPOSE:To regulate accurately the alloy composition of molten steel in a molten steel degassing vessel by directly blowing an alloying or refining agent into the molten steel under reflux from the side wall of the vessel so as to prevent the powdery agent from flowing in an exhaust system or sticking to the inner wall of the vessel. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel in a molten steel degassing vessel X is forced to be refluxed with an inert gas introduced through a booster line 4 connected to a tuyere 1 at a lower part of the side wall of the vessel X. The line 4 is connected to a powder source 2 contg. an alloying or refining agent. The agent is sent to the line 4 with a pressurized inert gas introduced as a carrier gas through a pressurizing line 3, and it is blown into the molten steel under reflux from the tuyere 1 through the booster line 4.
