PURPOSE:To form an electrostatic image having an intermediate potential with good reproductivity by bringing a recording electrode into contact with a recording body composed of a conductive substrate, an electrostatic charge injection control layer, a photo-semiconductor layer, and a weak dielectric layer laminated in succession. CONSTITUTION:The charge injection control layer 4 and the photo-semiconductor layer 2 are successively laminated on the conductive substrate 5 to form the recording body 1. When a switch 9 is grounded, since the layer 4 transfers electrons very little, injection of electrons from the layer 4 to the layer 3 is carried out very little, and positive charge in the layer 3 is accumulated near an interface A as long as it is limited for a time of few seconds. The electrode 6 is surrounded with an insulating body 7, and it serves as the protector for protecting the dielectric layer 2 to prevent impairing of the metallic electrode 6. |
