PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of an anode by providing such construction as that an anolyte chamber is filled with anolyte even when an anolyte pump is stopped. CONSTITUTION:While an anolyte pump 5 is in operation, anolyte 7 stored in an anolyte tank 8 passes through the anolyte pump 5 and a valve 6 for being supplied to the anolyte chamber 3 of a liquid fuel cell. The valve 6 is only required to check a back flow of anolyte. The anolyte which contains the gas formed due to an electrochemical reaction at an anode 1 returns again to the anolyte tank 8 so as to continue said circulation so long as the anolyte pump is in operation. when the anolyte pump 5 stops, the anolyte in the anolyte chamber 3 stays as it is in the anolyte chamber 3 due to the action of the valve 6. |
