PURPOSE:To form a mark different from the one formed by printing or coating of a coloring material, generating no fading peeling-off with the elapse of time or by washing and having excellent durability, by forming a mark in a brown or black color by discoloration due to carbonization succeeding to the melting of polyurethane. CONSTITUTION:A mold B is formed so as to obtain a proper height from the base bottom part 5 thereof corresponding to the thickness of a polyurethane sheet 7 and the projection 4a corresponding to a mark cutting part 4 is formed at a height (t1) slightly higher than the height of mark projections 2a, 3a. The polyurethane sheet 7 coated with an adhesive 6 is placed on the bed of a pressing machine and the mold B is mounted to a ram head and pressed onto the polyurethane sheet 7 contacted to a material 1 after heating. The polyurethane sheet 7 receives the pressing force and heat of the base bottom surface 5 to be instantaneously adhered to the surface of the material by the melting of the hot melt adhesive 6 under heating and the polyurethane sheet 7 is discolored to a brown or black color at the mark projections 2a, 3a by carbonization to form a desired pattern to the surface of the polyurethane sheet 7. |
