PURPOSE:To enable the detection of the quantity of remaining sheets without making the contour of a sheet feeder too large, even if setting at the middle of the accommodation capacity of the feeder is performed, by moving a detected member for detecting the quantity of the remaining sheets, in conjunction with a pushing member which moves toward a takeout side as the sheets are taken out. CONSTITUTION:A paper money storage section 36 is made of a bottom plate 31 and both side plates 35. A pushing plate 37 is fitted with a guide block 39 and is slidable on a guide bar 40. The pushing plate 37 is provided with an urging member 41, and follows the quantity of stored paper money P so as to apply a frictional force necessary to send out the paper money P by a send-out roller 38. A detected member 32 is provided with a guide plate 33 and is slidable on another guide bar 34. Even if a poper money feeder 21 wherein a proximity switch 30 is disposed in the middle of the feeder and the storage section 36 is empty is set in an automatic telling machine, mistaken detection is not performe. Even if the paper money P is fully stored in the section 36, a magnet 32 does not spring out of the paper money feeder 21. |
