<p>A method of and an apparatus for the thermal treatment of organic materials, especially organic wastes, makes use of a horizontally elongated tank in which the waste is agitated in contact with a thermally conductive wall externally heated by the circulation of a hot gas thereover. The hot gas is generated by injecting, into the space between this wall and an insulated wall, a combustion gas from a burner into which vapors released from the organic material are fed so that the vapors are fully burned within the burner.</p> |
