By means of the cabinet-shaped housing, a gap-free covering is to be provided even in the region of the housing front between the door and the set-back section of the base, which covering can be adapted on the floor side to the base height of adjacent kitchen furniture or appliances. The housing has a door (11) which is mounted on the housing body (14) above a set-back section (18) of the base so as to be pivotable about a horizontally extending axis and bears on the upper end section a panel body (16) having operating and display elements. The door is concealed by a front board (19) which adjoins the panel body. Said board extends down to the set-back section of the base and is mounted in the region between the latter and the door bearing axle on the housing body so as to be pivotable likewise about a horizontally extending axis. Provided between the housing door and the front board is a control mechanism (21) which forces the front board to carry out a preceding pivoting movement when the housing door is opened.
