PURPOSE:To increase the functions of VTR by three times by using a 4-head, azimuth recording system rotary drum which has compatibility with a 2-head, azimuth recording system and recording three different kinds of video signals on one magnetic tape by utilizing four magnetic heads effectively. CONSTITUTION:Video heads with four azimuth angles are mounted at intervals of accurate 90 deg. and a tape trvels while wound by >=270 deg.. Adjacent heads arranged at 90 deg. differ in azimuth angle and heads fitted at 180 deg. are equal in azimuth angle. The 1st video signal is applied when a head CH1A reaches a point (a) and the 2nd video signal is applied when CH2B reaches the point (a); and the 3rd video signal applied when CH1B reaches the point (a) and the 4th video signal is applied when CH2A reaches the point (a), thus recording signals similarly and repeatedly. Thus, three kinds of video signals are recorded on the magnetic tape. |
