PURPOSE:To simplify structure and to reduce oil agitation resistance, by a method wherein two chambers are formed in series so that the one end surface of a gear chamber is totally open to an output distribution chamber, and an oil guide is located above a chain driving device in an output distribution chamber. CONSTITUTION:A transfer case 1 is provided at its interior with a gear chamber 3 containing a transmission gear device 2 and an output distribution chamber 5 containing a chain type output distribution device 4 adapted to distribute an output to front and rear wheels. The output distribution chamber 5 is formed in a shape in that it is extended further toward the front output shaft 9 side than a gear chamber 3, and is formed in series so that the one end surface of the gear chamber 3 is wholly open to the output distribution chamber 5. An oil guide 11, adapted to temporarily stow oil, is located in the upper space of a chain transmission device 10 in the output distribution chamber 5. This simplifies a case 1 through elimination of a conventional partition, and causes a decrease in an amount of return oil by means of the oil guide 11, resulting in reduction in agitation resistance of oil. |
