A device for disintegrating objects, comprising a feeding arrangement with at least one member (1) arranged to engage and feed objects to be disintegrated to a member (2) for disintegration thereof, and a method in which an object to be disintegrated is forwarded to a disintegrating zone where it is subjected to disintegrating action directed crosswise to the direction of the feeding. The device is intended for disintegration of different types of objects, but is particularly suited for disintegration of mineral wool plates for insulating purposes.
