PURPOSE:To prevent the excessive temp. rise at both ends of a fixing roller by providing a fan for cooling which can blow air simultaneously to both ends of the fixing roller where recording paper is not passed in the stage of feeding the small-sized recording paper to a fixing device and cooling said ends by the wind blow therefrom during the feeding of the small-sized recording paper. CONSTITUTION:The parts where the small-sized recording paper A5 does not pass exist on the surface of the fixing roller 2 and since the roller 2 is not provided with a medium for transmitting heat at both ends T1 and T2, the elevation of the temp. to the abnormally high temp. as compared to the part where said paper passes is predicted during the feeding of the small-sized recording paper in the case of such paper. The fan 6 is therefore driven to blow the air through double cylinder parts 5 to cool simultaneously the two ends T1 and T2 of the roller 2 when the assignment signal of the paper A5 is received in a fan driving circuit 9. The excessived elevation of the temp. at the ends T1 and T2 to such a temp. at which a thermal damage is given to the roller 2 itself and the peripheral mechanism parts is prevented. |
