<p>PURPOSE:To surely provide a burglarproof measure for a vehicle, by enabling a shift lever locking device to be locked only when a shift lever is set at a predetermined position and to be released from its locked condition if input data are valid. CONSTITUTION:When detection is made such that a shift lever M1 for carrying out the speed change of an automobile is set at a predetermined position such as, for example, its parking position indicating the parking condition of the automobile, a locking means M2 for locking a locking cam 310 formed therein with a notch by means of a locking solenoid 320 is actuated to lock the shift lever M1. A decoder M5 is provided in the same housing M4 as for the locking means M2, and releases the locking condition of the locking means M2 when input data received by an input means M3 coincide with data previously stored in a memory. With this arrangement the vehicle may be surely prevented from being thieved.</p> |
