PURPOSE:To perform an accurate and stable track jumping scan by moving a light beam at scan positions of a converting means almost at an equal speed. CONSTITUTION:A tracking element 17 and a transport electric motor 19 have such a relation that the tracking element 17 performs tracking operation by scanning the light beam 2 in case of abrupt displacement such as the eccentricity of a track on a recording carrier 7 and the transport electric motor 19 is driven so that the driving voltage of the tracking element 17 is zero on average. When a jump is made, the light beam 2 moves at an equal speed and a reverse pulse in an invariably constant shape is applied, so that an extremely simple device is obtained. The composite voltage of an impulsive voltage, step voltage, and lamp voltage is applied to the tracking element 17, and then the light beam is moved almost at the equal speed. |
