PURPOSE:To prevent the intrusion of non-magnetic powder into a magnetic brush by providing a magnetic pole having the polarity reversed from the polarity of a developing magnetic pole on the down stream side of a doctor member. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic pole S1 of the polarity reversed from the polarity of the developing magnetic pole N1 is provided on the down stream side of the doctor member 11 for controlling the thickness of the magnetic developer on a non-magnetic sleeve 6 and further the member 11 is inclined by at least 45 deg. with the horizontal line. A container 14 for contg. the non-magnetic powder is provided around the member 11. The conveying magnetic pole S1 having the polarity reversed from the polarity of the developing pole N1 is provided on the down stream side of the member 11 in the above-mentioned way and therefore the non-magnetic powder in the magnetic brush is surely moved toward the surface side of the member 11 by said pole coupled with a magnetic pole N3 for scraping. Since the member 11 is inclined, the non-magnetic powder falls by gravity and is recovered into the container 14. |
