PURPOSE:To effectively gain energy from a flywheel by measuring the actual speed of the flywheel and controlling power transmission from a motor to the flywheel such that the speed of the flywheel can be kept within a predetermined range. CONSTITUTION:When the speed of the flywheel is the minimum of the range thereof or less than it, a fuel valve 16 is open, the clutch 18 is engaged and the engine 10 is connected, so that the power is transmitted to the flywheel 20. If the actual flywheel speed omegaFL is the maximum of the operating range or exceeds it, the fuel valve 16 is closed and the clutch 18 is disengaged, so that the engine is disconnected from the flywheel. In this mode, the energy for propelling the vehicle can be effectively gained from the flywheel. |
