PURPOSE:To prevent a water supply tank or a storage reservoir from overflowing, by a method wherein a bypass pipe, branched from a penstock and opened to a diversion channel, is installed, and a flow rate regulating valve is located in the line of the bypass pipe. CONSTITUTION:A reference water level signal from a reference value setter 13 and a water level signal, detected by a water level gauge 2 for a water supply tank or a storage reservoir 1, are inputted to a comparator 14 for comparison. By means of an output signal from the comparator 14, a motor 11 is driven through a motor driving circuit 15 and the opening of a flow rate regulating valve 10 is regulated to discharge surplus water through a bypass pipe 9 in a diversion tank or a diversion channel 8. This enables a water level in the water supply tank or the storage reservoir 1 to be held about at a specified value, resulting in the possibility to prevent the water supply tank 1 from overflowing. |
