<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the malfunction of a leak breaker due to a surge generated in an electric source line by a method wherein the surge is absorbed before the surge, generated in the electric source line, passes through the leak breaker. CONSTITUTION:The surge, generated in the AC 100V electric source line 10, passes through first over-current relay 8 and arrives at the electric circuit 16 of the electric water heater. However, the surge between lines is absorbed by first surge absorbing element 12 of a surge absorbing circuit 17 and the surge between the line and ground is absorbed by second surge absorbing element 13 before the surge passes through the first leak breaker 5. Accordingly, the malfunction of the first leak breaker 5 will never be caused since the surge is absorbed before the first leak breaker 5. On the other hand, the surge between lines, which is generated in AC 200V electric source line 11, is absorbed by the third surge absorbing element 14 of the surge absorbing circuit 17 and the surge between line and ground, generated in the same electric source line 11, is absorbed by the fourth surge absorbing element 15 before the surge, generated in the same line 11, passes through the second leak breaker 6.</p> |
