PURPOSE:To form a thermal recording medium imparting a sharp multicolor image, by constituting said recording medium from a transfer sheet having a transfer layer based on a leuco dye and a receiving sheet while forming the uppermost layer of the receiving sheet from a layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler, and providing a layer based on a diazo compound and a coupler and a layer based on an alkali agent. CONSTITUTION:The titled recording medium consists of a transfer sheet and a receiving sheet but the transfer sheet has a transfer layer based on a leuco dye while the receiving sheet has a layer I based on a diazo compound and a coupler, a layer II based on an alkali agent and a layer III based on a leuco dye and a coupler. In the laminating order of the layers formed to the receiving sheet, the layer III based on the leuco dye and the coupler may be formed as the uppermost layer and the laminating order of the layers I, II is arbitrary. By this structure, at most four kinds of color forming reactions are respectively generated corresponding to different heating temps. and the m.p. of each color forming agent such as each leuco dye or the diazo compound is properly selected. |
