<p>PURPOSE:To enable a valve stopping device to be formed in a small size, by constituting the device so that a check valve in an oil hydraulic lifter may be opened by a rod responsively actuated to the pressure of oil. CONSTITUTION:An oil hydraulic lifter 14 slidably arranges in its body 20 a tappet 21 operated by a cam 12. And the lifter 14, arranging a plunger 22 in the tappet 21 and forming a pressure oil chamber 35 and a reservoir chamber 36, controls a passage 23 between the both chambers by a ball 24 in a check valve. While a rod 29 receiving a control pressure from one side is arranged in the body 20, moving the ball 24 of the check valve to an opening position by operating a valve 34 to supply the control pressure when the action of a valve is stopped. The lifter can be formed is a small size because no solenoid is used for controlling the ball 24.</p> |
