PURPOSE:To enable the measurement for on-column gas chromatography of a sample whose column contains vapor residue, by connecting a metal capillary tube to the end of a flexible capillary using a detachable connector. CONSTITUTION:A stainless capillary 2 coated with no liquid phase is connected to a glass capillary 1 using a heat shrinking ''Teflon'' pipe 3 to form an end- flexible capillary governing separation. Moreover, a stainless capillary tube 4 coated with no liquid phase is connected to one end of the capillary 2 with an inversely detachable connector 5 to form a capillary column. Then, the tube 4 is covered with a galss fiber empire tube for thermal insulation and the head of the tube 4 is connected to an on column sample introduction section while a thermocouple to the head of the tube 4 with the tail of the capillary 1 linked to a hydrogen flame detector and a lead is mounted to both ends of the tube 4. This equipment is used to raise the temperature of a heating tank immediately without any special energiziation of the tube 4 thereby enabling measurement of a sample containing residues. |
