PURPOSE:To enable clear, handy and quick assay of biological components with a high sensitivity, by employing hydrogen peroxide and 4-methoxy-1-naphthol as substrate. CONSTITUTION:In a method of analyzing biological components based on the amount of peroxydase (POD) bonded, utilizing a bond among the biological components or a target matter containing them, an acceptor specifically bound to the biological components or the target matter containing them and POD, hydrogen peroxide and 4-methoxy-1-naphthol are used as substrate. The biological components herein analyzable are, for example, antigens, antibodies and enzymes, which normally exist in various body liquors and pathological tissues. And the target matter herein used is, for example, an antigen, antibody and enzyme while the aceptor herein used is, for example, an antibody, protein A and enzyme. This method is applicable for the ordinary enzyme-immunoassay. Especially in a color developing system within a gelatinous support, this elevates the measuring sensitivity about score times and can be applied sufficiently for screening.
