PURPOSE:To make a color identification portion simple, compact and economical by providing non-ink coated layers in the borderline regions of respective ink layers and by making groups consisting of two or more of different colored heat-sensitive transfer ink layers and by coating non-penetrating ink layer on any one of non-ink coated layers of respective groups. CONSTITUTION:A color thermal transfer ribbon includes a substrate 1, heat sensitive transfer ink layers 2, 3, 4 each of which consists of plural layers, plural number of non-ink coated layers 5 and black layers 6 as plural number of non- penetrating ink layers. On the ink coated side (surface) in the moving direction B (longitudinal direction) of the substrate 1 heat-sensitive transfer ink layers 2, 3, 4 are formed repeatedly one after another. The heat-sensitive transfer ink layers 2, 3, 4 consists of single color layers of different colors respectively. The heat- sensitive transfer ink layers 2, 3, 4 are respectively yellow, magenta and cyanic. Non-ink coated layers 5 are provided on respective borderline regions of the yellow layer 2, magenta layer 3 and cyanic layer 4. Further, for each group consisting of yellow layer 2, magenta layer 3 and cyanic layer 4 on non-ink coated layer 5 before the yellow layer 2, the blank ink layer 6 is coated. |
