PURPOSE:To adjust quickly and surely the inside width of a feed bar by providing freely axially slidably a member for positioning the inside width of the feed bar between a drive arm and an extensible and contractable rod. CONSTITUTION:A device for adjusting the inside width of the feed bar is pushed toward the right by a rod 5' to disengage the drive arm 3 from a cam and a rack 25 is detached from the rack 23 of a member 22 for positioning the feed bar by a fluid pressure cylinder 24 in the case of expanding the spacing of the inside width. A prescribed stopper 28 or 29 for positioning is lowered by one of plural fluid pressure cylinders 26 or 27 disposed zigzag and a transmission shaft 20 is moved to the rod 5' side by a fluid pressure cylinder 32 to abut the contact member 30 thereof to the stopper 28 or 29. The rack 25 is then lowered and is meshed with a rack 23 and thereafter the stopper 28 or 29 is moved upward and further the rod 5' is moved toward the left to raise counterclockwise the arm 3 and to abut the same to the cam. the inside width of the feed bar is thus adjusted to a prescribed spacing. |
