Device making it possible to automatically control the general opening or closing of all or some of the channels of a chippings spreader gate as a function of the width of the spreading to be carried out, to clear a foreign body from one of these channels without disturbing the flow rate of the others and to totally close the assembly without cancelling the flow rate adjustment. The device consists of a set of pneumatic jacks: - two jacks 7 each controlling a stopper regulating the flow rate of the out-of-size channels, - a jack 9 controlling in translation a gate 8 supported by ball bearing travellers 10, - double-body jacks with two independent rods of opposing extensions controlling a series of stoppers or sliding flaps mounted on the gate 8, which stoppers may assume a mean position with the extension of a single jack rod, a totally closed position with the extension of the two jack rods and a retracted position with a retracted position of the two jack rods. The jack 9 is associated with a control screw 20, controlled by a wheel so as to allow a preadjustment. <IMAGE>
