SURFACE MODIFICATION OF POLYVINYL CHLORIDE RESIN MOLDING

PURPOSE:To prevent the migration of plasticizer in the titled molding permanently, by the low-temperature plasma treatment of the surface of the molding of a composition containing a PVC resin and a specified modifying agent. CONSTITUTION:A molding is obtained from a composition prepared by incorporating 0.2-30pts.wt. of one or more organic compound containing a terminal (meth)acryloyl group of formulas I to V [where A and A1-11 each are (meth) acryloyl; M and M1-2 each are an aliphatic dihydric alcohol residue; M3-5 is an aliphatic trihydric alcohol residue; R is an alkyl which may be substituted by one or more OH or carboxyl or an (alkyl)phenyl; N is a dibasic acid residue; n1 is 0, 1 or greater; n2-5 each are 1 or greater] as modifying agent into 100pts.wt. PVC resin. This molding is subjected to a low-temperature plasma treatment by applying an electrical power of about 13.56MHz and 10-500W between the electrodes for several seconds to tens of munites in atmosphere of a gas non-polymerizable by plasma under 0.001-10Torr.
