PURPOSE:To uniformize the flow of cooling medium passing in the uppermost winding block for providing uniform cooling effect in each winding and to prevent the thermal deterioration of an insulating member, by providing a notch in an external insulating cylinder opposing to the uppermost winding block for enabling the cooling medium to escape therethrough. CONSTITUTION:An external insulation cylinder 2 opposing to the uppermost winding block 4 is provided with a recessed notch 14 through which insulating oil as cooing medium can escape outside the external insulation cylinder 2. In such a transformer, insulating oil flowing into the winding block 4 thrugh a passing hole 10 flows in parallel through horizontal ducts 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d and 6e and goes directly out of the external insulation cyliner 2 through the notch 14. Accordingly, the distribution of flow of the insulating oil is uniformized within the uppermost winding block 4, and therefore the distribution of temperature is also uniformized among disk windings 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d. Thus, the thermal deterioration of an insulation member can be inhibited. |
