Shackle-type device for handling, especially for hoisting or lifting. The device comprises two shackle branches 2, 3 connected by at least two rods 4 which have parallel non-aligned axes and at least one of which is longitudinally split, a flat flexible link 5 in the form of a strap having at least one of its ends immobilised by friction on the split rod by penetration in the associated slit 6 and locking winding of the strap on the split rod, means 9 being provided for blocking the said split rod rotationally about its axis. <IMAGE>
