PURPOSE:To obtain with low cost a permanent magnet alloy superior in magnetic characteristic by specifying reductant, Cu quantity and reaction temp. in manufacturing an alloy consisting of specified Cu substitution type R2CO17 rare earth intermetallic compound by direct reducing diffusion method. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing permament magnetic alloy having compsn. of a formula (R: >=one kind among rare earth metals such as Sm, Ce, Pr, M: >=one kind a among Si, Ti, Zr, Mn, V, Cr, Mo, Hf, 0.01<=x<=0.40, 0.02<=y<=0.25, 0.001<= q<=0.15, 5.0<=A<=8.5), oxides of said rare earth metal, Co, Fe, Cu, M (each metallic powder or oxide) and reductant (>=one kind among Ca, CaH2, Mg) are mixed. Thereat, quantities of reductant and Cu powder are prescribed to 1.05-1.5 times, 1.05-1.3 times respectively to stoichiometric compsn., and reduction diffusing reaction is performed at 1,000-1,300 deg.C temp. range. By this method, magnetic alloy having magnetic characteristic without any fact inferior comparing to that obtained by high frequency melting method is obtained. |
