AUTOMATIC REGISTERING METHOD OF FREQUENT PHRASE FOR DOCUMENT PROCESSOR

PURPOSE:To attain the automatic registration of phrases by selecting the phrases having high using frequencies out of the input character strinfs to produce the macrocodes of these selected phrases and having the correspondence between phrases and their macrocodes. CONSTITUTION:A character string supplied from a keyboard 204 is sent temporarily to a text buffer 16 and converted into a sentence containing KANJI (Chinese characters) through a register control part. In this case, a phrase table 15 is retrieved to detect a relevant phrase. This detected phrase is converted into KANJI and at the same time the frequency fields are increased. A macrotable register/control part 6 retrieves the frequency field at an appropriate time point to detect a phrase that has the highest frequency and is not registered to a macrotable 5 yet. Then this phrase is registered to an idle area of the table 5 as long as a key mode is set. This registered position is used as a code. While is an abbreviation mode an idle are is detected according to the first prescrobed number of character strings of KANA (Japanese syllabary).
