PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and further remarkably reduce polychlorinated biphenyl(PCB) having minute concentration in a liquid to be treated by providing a solid granular dechlorinating substance in a stationary phase filter-like form in a flow path of a liquid to be treated containing PCB. SOLUTION: A solid granular dechlorinating substance [preferably metal sodium (Na)] having a reacting group reacting with chloride group of PCB is provided in a stationary phase in a flow path of a liquid to be treated containing PCB and the solid granular dechlorinating substance is brought into contact with the PCB. Concretely, a filter member obtained by fixing granular Na in layer state between two porous stainless plates 4a and 4b is fitted in a reacting tank 1. Thereby, dechlorination of PCB is carried out when the liquid to be treated introduced into an introducing chamber 1a in the reacting tank 1 is passed though a Na filter and moved to a discharging chamber 1b. The temperature of the liquid to be treated is preferably a temperature slightly lower than a melting point of the dechlorinating substance, e.g. 80 to <98 deg.C in the case of metal Na. |
