Process and device for the continuous production of glass objects, by means of which a single glass plate having two layers of different composition, two-layered glass plates with an air space between the cover plates or tubes with circular or elliptical cross-section can be produced. To this end the device and the process use a moulding body with a trough device in order thereby to subdivide the glass melt into two interacting streams on working surfaces of an upper part and a lower part of the moulding body. The glass melt flows downwards along the outer working surface of the moulding body upper part onto the inner working surfaces of the moulding body lower part. An outlet device having a casing of ceramic or another high temperature-resistant material can be provided in an opening in the base part of the moulding body as a means for forming a closed double plate of flat glass or a tubular object. The configuration of the outlet device and of the lower opening in the moulding body and of the moulding body as a whole can be chosen depending on the shape of the object to be produced. <IMAGE>
