PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an asymmetrical convergence error resulting from an eddy current magnetic field by filling a getter container that forms two loops which are provided along the funnel inner wall surface of a picture tube and whose shape forms an 8-shaped form, and in which the eddy current resulting from a horizontal deflection magnetic field is almost offset, with getter material. CONSTITUTION:For a getter 14, one end is fixed to an electron gun 1 for a color picture tube and a line that connects the center of loops 161 and 162 is arranged at the other end of an elastic strand 3 that is extended along the inner wall surface of a funnel 2 from this one end so as to be vertical to a horizontal axis X and parallel to an axial axis Z. For this getter 14, getter material 18 is diffused by the externally induced heating of the funnel 2 after the sealing process of the color picture tube is completed. Since the center 151 of the intersection portion of the two loops 161 and 162 is not filled with this getter material 18, eddy current flows in the getter material 18 with the high magnetic properties ratio, assuming the first and second loops 161 and 162 as one large loop. As a result, the getter material 18 of both loops 161 and 162 can fully be diffused by the single induced heating. |
