A device is described for the continuous injection of fuel into the intake line of an internal combustion engine, which has a fuel feed device controlled by a control unit, which device meters the fuel delivered from a tank by a fuel pump to a secondary air flow diverted from the intake line by an air pump as a function of the operating state of the internal combustion engine, and a distributor device uniformly distributing the fuel-air mixture to injection lines assigned to each of the individual cylinders of the internal combustion engine. In order to increase the fuel delivery rate, especially in the low load range and in that case preferably in the event of large differences of the fuel feed quantities, it is proposed, in the area of the lines (14, 15) conducting the fuel-air mixture to the fuel feed device and/or the distributor device, to provide an energy feed device (20), which converts the liquid fuel constituents into small droplets or a fuel vapour permitting a high delivery rate. At the same time the energy feed device may be controllable as a function of the load of the internal combustion engine in that it is switched off when a predetermined load is exceeded. The energy feed device may be designed both as a heating device (20) and as an ultrasonic atomisation device. <IMAGE>
