Novel monoazo compounds, which contain one or two sulphonic acid groups in the form of the free acid or in salt form, correspond to the formula I <IMAGE> in which the symbols are as defined in Claim 1. They are used for dyeing or printing organic substrates which can be dyed with anionic dyestuffs, such as leather and natural synthetic polyamides, in particular carpeting material made of nylon.
