Telescopically extensible holding rods connected to the vertically adjustable foot-pieces of the stilts make it possible to increase the sporting nature of walking on stilts and also the pleasure of playing with them per se for a child, in accordance with the amount of practise he/she has had and the confidence and skill he/she has acquired as a result. Small or timid children can start at low standing heights and their self-confidence is increased considerably as they become more successful.
