The invention relates to weather-proofing for dog kennels which is intended to prevent the ingress of moisture, wind and other effects of bad weather through the access aperture to the inside of the kennel and to protect the dog within the kennel against the risk of colds, rheumatic complaints and other harmful consequences of the weather. In relation to the known protective apparatuses for this purpose, e.g. windproofing strips or closure facilities for the access aperture, the object of the invention was to provide an easily manufacturable and strong weather-proofing which does not impede the ingress and egress of the dog and does not adversely affect the comfort of the dog within the kennel. The invention comprises a bristle frame, preferably of natural bristles, along at least part of the edge of the access aperture, the bristles of which project in the manner of a brush into the access aperture, and a dog kennel with such weather-proofing, cf. for example Fig. 1. A particular advantage of the weather-proofing according to the invention resides in the fact that as a result brushing of the coat, perceived by the dog as beneficial, occurs when the dog passes through the access aperture. <IMAGE>
