PURPOSE:To enable control of the position of a rack through one system, by a method wherein, in a device which is used in a fuel injection pump, the piston is moved forward and backward by means of a fluid pressure exerted on the plural pressure receiving surface of the piston, and governing is effected through displacement of the rack. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of a cam shaft 11 is increased in a speed and transferred to an oil pump 5 through gears 13 and 16 and a coupling 15. Working oil in a tank 7 is sucked through a suction pipe 6 with the aid of a pump 5, and is fed with a pressure into a bore 21 through passages 8 and 9. When a pressure in the passage 8 exceeds a specified value, the working oil releases a check valve 36 to flow to an outlet line 10. In which case, the working oil flowing through the passage 8 is exerted on a pressure receiving surface 23 of a piston 4, and the working oil flowing through the passage 9 is reduced in a pressure by a throttle 25 and is exerted on a pressure receiving surface 24. When, based on a differential pressure exerted on the pressure receiving surfaces 23 and 24, a force exerted on the piston 4 is increased over that of a spring 27, a rack 2 is moved rightward through a lever 3 to perform governing. |
