A continuous-flow heater is disclosed, consisting of a water supply pipe (1) and an electrical tubular heating element (2) which is arranged at a distance from the water supply pipe (1) at the side and is connected to the water supply pipe (1) by means of a heat link (3). The heat link (3) extends from the tubular heating element (2) to the base of the water supply pipe (1). As a result of this construction, the temperature of the water flowing through the water supply pipe (1) reaches a value which is higher than that in the case of continuous-flow heaters in which the heat transfer from the tubular heating element (2) to the water supply pipe (1) takes place above the water supply pipe (1). <IMAGE>
