PURPOSE:To accurately and instantaneously stop at a target position without vibration by providing a varying point control table for controlling the varying point between acceleration and deceleration. CONSTITUTION:A control table 21, an acceleration table 22, a constant speed table 23, a deceleration table 24 and a varying point control table 25 are provided in a read only memory 2 for controlling a step motor. If the moving distance of the motor is long, the tables are read out in the sequence of the tables 22, 23, 24 to control it. If the moving distance is short, the tables are read out in the sequence of the tables 25, 24 to control it. Thus, a period for not exciting in all phases for the prescribed time is provided between the acceleration and the deceleration to smoothly switch from the acceleration to the deceleration, thereby eliminating the vibration at the stopping time. |
