<p>A medium weight abrasion-resistant castable for use as a refractory lining having a bulk density of no greater than 130 lbs/cu ft (2.1 gr/cc), and abrasion loss of no greater than about 25 cc and a thermal conductivity of no greater than 5.5 BTU/hr/ft2/in/oF (3.8 Kcal/min/cm2/cm/oC) includes a coarse aggregate of a material containing cordierite. The composition also includes an intermediate sized aggregate of calcined kaolin or calcined flint and a finer sized aggregate of calcined caolin or calcined flint, fly ash cenospheres, clay, fume silica, and cement.</p> |
