The invention relates to a tool-feed device for a machining tool, especially a tool on a drill rod of a horizontal well-drilling machine or a lathe, in which the drill rod, to the front end of which the tool is attached, is mounted so as to be axially displaceable in a feed-pressure medium supply device. In order, along with the compact design, to guarantee that the drillhole to be made is as accurate as possible, the feed-pressure medium supply device has a pressure-medium passage channel 14 and a sealing-off centring bush 32 for bearing against one end of a workpiece 13. The drill rod 11, in the region of the front end, or the tool 34 is provided with an annular piston 21 having a diameter which is larger than that of the drill rod 11 and which is equal to or somewhat smaller than the workpiece drillhole 29. The annular piston 21 for generating the feed force for the tool 34 can be subjected to the pressure medium via the feed-pressure medium supply device 12 (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
