The apparatus for measuring rheologic properties of a medium comprises a rotor (6') immersed in the medium which is integral with a permanent magnet (35) and is actuated by an electromagnetic field rotatable or rotationally orientable and generated by fixed coils (14, 14', 14'', 14'''). The rotation angle of the rotor (6') with respect to the actuation field will be measured (9, 10) without mechanical intervention. It is thus possible to measure the cutting effort, the viscosity or other elastic or plastic properties of the medium. The actuation of the rotor as well as the measurement of the rotation angle will be implemented without involving mechanical parts in motion by means of the wall of a closed container (25, 5'). The apparatus is appropriate for studying fluids under pressure or comprising volatile components. The outer magnetic field may be brought to any position and held thereto. Thus, by determining the orientation of the rotor, it is possible to determine the elastic and plastic properties of the object under study. The rotor (6') is the only part in motion of the apparatus. |
