The bicycle comprises a pedal-driven oil pump (A) with oil reservoir (B) to drive a hydraulic motor (C) on the rear wheel axle and possibly front wheel axle. The fluid flow and return connections are via the tubular wheel fork members. - A transmission selector (D) is arranged on the frame. A lever (F) on the handlebar permits adjustment of the oil flow control valve (H) on the motor. The oil pressure is indicated on a gauge (I) on the handlebar. An alternative embodiment with engine-driven pump is described and illustrated.
