In the case of internal-grinding machining of bores, the bending of the grinding spindle (1) and of the grinding mandrel (5) is measured by a sensor element (21). The corresponding signals are fed to a control logic (25) and an amplifier (26), which corrects the bending via piezoelectric force elements (12, 14). Active damping of the grinding procedure can be achieved by the arrangement described in the invention. <IMAGE>
