The system contains an explosion chamber (1), a device (2) for feeding in the gas mixture and an appliance (3) for feeding in the pulverulent coating material, these being connected to the explosion chamber (1). The system further has a control unit (15) which is connected via control circuits (16, 17, 18 and 19) to valves (5, 6 and 7) of a mixing device (4) of the gas mixture infeed device (2). Provided in the explosion chamber (1) is an appliance (14) for triggering the explosion. Assigned to the appliance (3) for feeding in the coating material there is a dosing appliance (12) and a valve (13) which is electrically connected to the control unit (15). The control circuit (19) of the dosing device (12) has a time-delay element (20) and a setting appliance (21) connected thereto. The latter is used to vary the energetic parameters of particles of the pulverulent coating material during the operation of the system as a function of the variation of physico-chemical properties of the layer to be treated. The system can be used in metallurgy, the chemical industry, in aircraft construction and shipbuilding, in space engineering and in various fields of mechanical engineering. <IMAGE>
