PURPOSE:A ferritic welding wire material including a limited amount of S and O, and specified components provides an innert gas shield arc welding wire material for nickel-containing steel, capable of producing an excellent weld metal malleability and low-temperature, knotching toughness. CONSTITUTION:An innert gas shield arc welding material for nickel-containing steel consists of C<=0.05%, Si:0.12 to 0.25%, Mn: 0.20 to 0.70%, Ni: 7 to 13%, Ti: 0.01 to 0.05%, Al<=0.015%, P in the unavoidable impurities: less than 0.01%, S: less than 0.001%, 0: less than 0.0030%, the balance essentially Fe, and if required includes one or more of Ca<=0.05%, Mg<=0.05%, rare earth element metal (REM) <=0.02% (whereby Ca+Mg+REM<=0.04%.). The use of such wire material stabilizes the toughness at knotched part of the welded metal, providing good malleability as well as an excellent COD value. The wire material is useful in welding nickel-containing steel for low temperature structual use. |
